What is Himalayan Salt?
Himalayan Salt is a crystalline mountain salt (rock salt) mined from a salt mine in Khewra, Jhelum district in Punjab Pakistan. This mine is the oldest salt mining area and one of the largest in the world. Geologists say this mining area has been formed since 800 million years ago. The Khewra Salt Mine produces 325,000 tonnes of salt annually.
